When you set up an Amazon Echo, or any other device with Alexa built in, you’ll find that her voice is always the same. This is because there is – with only a couple of exceptions – just one voice for each language. Set up an Echo in the UK, for example, and you’ll get the UK English version of Alexa. Set one up in France, and you’ll get the French voice. In certain countries, such as the US, Canada and India, there are multilingual modes where you can speak in two languages and Alexa will respond in whichever language you spoke to her in.
